"Walking Together in Faith: Caminando juntos en la fe"
Under the theme, Walking Together in Faith, the 2008 Ministry Conference will work to meet the diverse needs of all ministries and lay Catholics in the diocese at all levels, to develop respect for the variety of ways that we respond in faith, to develop awareness that God continues to speak to us and to deepen and develop our relationship with God.
The three-day event will include an afternoon for clergy and will feature nationally recognized speakers such as John Allen, Bill Huebsch, Bishop Kevin Farrell, and more. Following the large plenary addresses participants can attend smaller breakout sessions in English or Spanish. The sessions are intended to meet competency-based standards covering a wide range of areas within Catholic ministry, including adult catechesis, parish leadership, sacraments, scripture, social justice, spirituality, and theology. There will also be more than 30 exhibitors, a display of religious artwork and ample networking opportunities including an evening banquet, and a musical concert.
