Tarrant County College - My Students

Above are some of my students from the fall 2006 semester at Tarrant County College. I taught three sections of Philosophy, and enjoyed every minute of it! I also learned quite a bit, and I enjoyed working with the outstanding faculty and staff of TCC.

Snow in November!

It is 30 November 2006, and we had a light "dusting" of snow, but - by God! - it was real snow, and it fell steadily all day. Quite lovely for us Texans who are not acustomed to snow. The bottom two photos are of the house next door, which belongs to my brother, David, and his wife, Jennifer (they have an active, vivacious home, as they live with two kids, a cat, and Jennifer's mother - a full house!).

Thanksgiving Fun at the Farm!

Here is A.J. playing with his cousin, Eddie, in the new "Bouncy-Bounce" toy at Grandpa and Grandma's house! In fact, A.J. got to see a lot of his counsins this Thanksgiving, and enjoyed playing with Eddie, Joshua, Nora, Sam, Joey, and Sarah! What fun to be at the farm!!

I want to reach out...

Tour of Dublin, Ireland

I want to run
I want to hide
I want to tear down the walls
That hold me inside
I want to reach out
And touch the flame
Where the streets have no name

I want to feel, sunlight on my face
I see the dust cloud disappear
without a trace
I want to take shelter from the poison rain
Where the streets have no name

The NACMS Conversation Group

Mary Lynne and I joined our colleagues from the North American Center for Marianist Studies (NACMS) during the weekend of 3-5 November 2006 in St. Louis at the Provincial offices of the Society of Mary. The Conversation Group meets twice a year at various locations to discuss issues facing the Marianist Family. Here are some scences of us thinking and talking last weekend!

Diane Gonzales Bertrand Book Reading

We went to visit our friend and colleague, Diane Gonzales Bertrand, who was invited by the Ft. Worth Public Library to read her children's stories on Saturday, 14 October 2006. She read at the Seminary Branch Library (501 East Bolt Street, Ft. Worth, Texas 76110) to a crowd of enthusiastic young fans! It was great to visit with her, and catch-up on the news of our friends at St. Mary's University (Diane is in the English Department with Mary Lynne). It was fun to see you, Diane!
