Feile Trad Tour - Trinity College, Dublin 2007

A 2007 festival of Irish language and music held in the courtyard of Trinity College Dublin.


San Earrach 2007, mhaoinigh Foras na Gaeilge amchuairt cheol traidisiúnta agus Gaeilge, dírithe ar institiúidí tríú leibhéal ar fud na tire, arna léiriú ag Tradfest Music. Cuireadh an camchuairt le chéile chun ceol traidisiúnta na hÉireann a nochtadh do lucht éisteachta óg, agus chun úsáid a bhaint as an nGaeilge i gcomhthéacs aspreagfadh an lucht éisteachta chun pé Gaeilge a bhí acu a úsáid. Baineann luas agus fuinneamh leis an gceol agus i dteannta na gcluichí agus an damhsa is ócáid spraíúil, oideachasúil agus cultúrtha í.

In Spring 2007, Foras na Gaeilge funded Tradfest Music to tour traditional Irish music and language throughout third level institutes across the country. The tour was designed to expose young people to traditional music and Irish language, encouraging them to use whatever amount of Irish they had. The music is fast paced and energetic, while the games and dancing conducted as gaeilge makes for a fun, educational and cultural experience.

This fall marks five years since Mary Lynne and I spent the semester in London with our group of 37 students for the study abroad program. That is hard to believe, as it seems like yesterday!
